The Inaugural edition of India Mobile Congress is being organised by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) at Pragati Maidan in the National Capital.
COAI is the industry association of mobile and telecom operators and internet companies.
The first ever India Mobile Congress will be a congregation to display, discuss, unveil, imbibe, educate and recognize the importance of the global and Indian telecommunications, mobile, internet, connectivity and digital services sector to the world.
“We are proud to say that our country is now hosting its own first ever mobile, Internet and technology event — The India Mobile Congress. We are hopeful that this will be a huge platform for mobile and internet technology sector in the sub-continent,” Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said.
“We are expecting a convergence of various thoughts, ideas and views from all corners and involvement of key stakeholders and the government will make this event a huge success,” he added.
The three-day mega event will be attended by Industry leaders Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Bharti Mittal of Airtel and Kumar Mangalam Birla.
Law and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Oil and Skills Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also attend the event.
About 150 foreign delegates and eight embassies including the US, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Israel are participating in the event.
The event is open for public. They only need to register on IMC website,” COAI Director General Rajan S Mathews said.
