Facebook: Allowing Emerging Market Companies To Sell Through Their Pages

South East Asia has been the fastest growing regions for the Facebook, but it is still making far more money from the users in United States and Canada.

In a view to build up customer base and let businesses be the premium advertisers over the Facebook, it has taken a new initiative to allow the emerging market companies to sell through their pages over the social networking site free of cost.

This service was initially being paid one which let the business person to sell out their products via various advertisements which were paid.

This move is a step forward to the latest Facebook’s  foray into the online e-commerce market.

Last year the social networking giant had launched a service which allowed the merchants to sell their products via paid ads over the Facebook.

Latest service being launched is free instead and will allow the users to view the products of merchants through their page.

Sellers: To Become more Reliant over Facebook e-commerce:

Company is hoping that by making sellers more reliant over the site, more and more businesses in the emerging markets will decide for becoming paying advertisers.

Benji Shomair who is a product marketing director of the Facebook pages commenting over the same in a interview says, “If a business is seeing value from their page, there is a higher opportunity that they could be an advertiser.”

Facebook’s stock is hitting all time high during last week while reporting a sharp growth in ad sales with about 3 million active advertisers.

There are even 60 million businesses worldwide which are using this service of setting up pages for the main attempt to reach more customers out of Facebook’s 1.7 billion global monthly users.

User Base and Return over Investment:

SouthEast Asia has been the fastest growing regions for the Facebook, but it is still making far more money from the users in United States and Canada.

Company is making an average revenue of $13.74 per North American user during the second quarter as compared to $1.74 per user in Acia-Pacific region.

Highly popular Facebook app and even the website is largely been saturated by western markets and is also turning towards emerging markets for further growth both in terms of users and advertising dollars.

It has even launched a free basics which is a free pared-down version of the internet which is having more than 30 countries which are having populations without reliable internet connection.

It is also constructing internet-beaming drones for connecting people who had never got access to internet. Both of the initiatives are of prime focus for Facebook’s global strategy for reaching to a large group of potential user base.
